Lake ecology and "cyanotype" sun-powered printmaking workshop

Phd students Mia, Misia, Shayna and Bailey from Chicago will be staying at Narsaq International Research Station between the 29th June to 12th July. They will explore the ecology of lakes near Narsaq, collecting sediments in order to ask questions such as: what organisms were living in these lakes hundreds or thousands of years ago, and how have their populations changed over time in response to climate change?  The group also includes the artist Misia Lerska, a digital artist who will will host an art-event for children, friends and families at the Citizens Center on July 7 from 1:30-3:30 p.m. At this event, the process of "cyanotype," will be demonstrated -sun-powered prints, using natural materials. All equipment will be donated, and the event is open to everyone!
